Why is giving during Dhul Hijjah special?

Allah Takes an Oath on Them

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the best ten days of the year and are unparalleled in their significance, as Allah Himself swears by them in the Qur'an.

01

Reward of Every Good Deed is Multiplied

These days are filled with abundant rewards, and every good deed is multiplied manifold. Allah’s mercy is at its peak during these blessed days, making them the perfect time to give.

02

Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ) Testimony

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also testified that these days are the best of the year. "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than those ten days." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi)

03

The Day of Arafah

It falls on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah and is the best day of the entire year. For those performing Hajj, it is the day they stand on the Plain of Arafah, the spiritual and physical heart of the pilgrimage.

04

Fasting

“Fasting on the Day of Arafah, I hope from Allah, expiates for the sins of the year before and the year after.” (Sahih Muslim)

05

Freedom From Hellfire

There is no day on which God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of Arafah. He draws near and then praises them to the angels, saying, “What do these people seek?”

06

Islam Was Perfected on 9th Dhul Hijjah

"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islām as religion." (Qur’ān 5:3)

07

Major Acts of Ibadah

During the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, all major acts of worship, fasting, dhikr, dua, Hajj, Qurbani, and the strengthening of Tawheed are taking place.
